Luke 17:20-25 The Pharisees asked Jesus: ‘When will the Kingdom of God come?’ He answered: You cannot tell by observation, saying ‘Look here is the Kingdom’, for now the Kingdom is among you. Jesus said to His disciples: Soon, you will long to see one of the Days of the Son of Man and you will not see it. Others will say: ‘Look: here it is, or There it is’, but do not go running off in pursuit, for like a lightning flash that will light up the earth from end to end, so will be the Day of the Lord. But first He must endure much suffering and be rejected by this generation.
Luke 17:26-30 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be on the Day of the Lord. Then they ate, drank, married and carried out their business until the day the flood came and made an end to them all. So too, in the days of Lot, they ate, drank, bought and sold, planted and built, but on the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulphur rained down from the sky and destroyed them all. It will be like that when the Son of Man rises to punish His enemies.
Luke 17:31-37 On that Day if anyone is on their roof or in their field, they must not hesitate or turn back. Remember Lot’s wife, she turned back and was killed. Whoever seeks to preserve their life, will lose it and whoever loses their life will gain it. I tell you, on that night there will be two people sleeping and one will die, the other survive, on that Day two will be working and one will die, the other will live. The disciples asked: Where Lord? He said: Where the carcass is, there the vultures will gather. Ref: REB.
‘like a lightning flash that will light up the whole world and will rain fire upon His enemies’. This is an accurate literal description of a coronal mass ejection and CANNOT be the Return, described quite differently in many Scriptures. It will be the great Day of the Lord’s vengeance and wrath – Isaiah 24:1-7, ‘when the Son of Man rises to punish His enemies’, and the many prophesied judgement/punishment by fire that the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah was a precursor of – 2 Peter 2:6, Jude 1:7 that will virtually depopulate the Middle East and destroy the world’s modern infrastructure. Isaiah 66:16-17
‘As it was in the days of Noah’ The world is now once again in a similar state of apostasy, atheism and degeneration. Psalms 94:1-7
‘Do not hesitate or turn back’, we are warned to be prepared for extreme temperatures, earthquakes and severe storms, but what is most important; we must trust in the Lord for His protection. Isaiah 26:20-21
‘on that Night and on that Day,’ This confirms how this CME sunstrike will affect all the world. Zephaniah 3:8
‘Where the carcass is, there the vultures will gather’, The disciples asked: Where Lord? So what is the ‘carcass’ and who are the ‘vultures’? The carcass must be a place, I would think it is the Land of Israel. So Luke 17:31-36 refers mainly to those living in the holy Land. The vultures must be those who plan the destruction of the State of Israel. Psalms 83:1-8, Micah 4:11
