The Lord is coming and will not keep silent
Psalms 50:1-23 The Lord God has spoken and summoned the world. From the rising of the sun to its setting, God shines out from His holy place, perfect in beauty. Our God is coming and will not keep silent; a consuming fire runs ahead of Him and round Him, a great storm rages. All the heavens and the earth come to the judging of His people. Gather to Him, all those who by sacrifice have made a covenant with Him. The Lord will judge all peoples with justice.
Listen, My people and I shall speak, I – your God shall bear witness against you. I do not rebuke you for your sacrifices, I don’t require the flesh of bulls or the blood of goats. Give to Me a sacrifice of thanksgiving and fulfil your vows, then if you call to Me in a time of trouble, I will come to your rescue and you will honour Me.
The Lord’s Word to an unrighteous person is this: What right do you have to recite My laws and to speak the words of My covenant? For you hate correction and ignore My teachings, you make friends with thieves and adulterers and you deceive others with your lies. You are forever talking against your brother, denigrating your own mothers son.
You forget your Maker, but think on this: I shall rebuke you and indict you to your face, I may tear you to pieces, with no one to help you.
All who honour Me by offering a sacrifice of thanksgiving and to all who follow My commandments, I shall show the salvation of God. Ref: REB.
