The one State solution;
The Foreign Policy Journal, who routinely condemns Israel for all the problems of the area, has suggested a single united, democratic state that recognises the equal rights of all and protects the rights of minorities.
If the Palestinian Arab Muslims cannot form a single united government of their own, that respects the rights of their minorities – or even each other – how exactly can they form one with Israel? Also interesting is that none of Israel’s neighbours are true democratic nations.
So, we are back with the unworkable dilemma of attempting to get agreement on a two state solution.
The original two state solution was implemented in 1920, when the British set up Abdullah, as King of Transjordan, and retained what is now Israel as Mandated territory
Then in the 1940’s the UN drew up a Partition Plan that gave the Jews basically only the Negev desert, Jerusalem to be an international city and the Arabs all the rest. The Jews said: Yes. The Arabs said: Jihad. The war of independence followed and the borders were determined by armed force.
Since then, there has been two more attempts to effect a two state solution. Neither brought anything like peace to the Land. Now, the political entities involved continue to try again the same old failed ideas. On the Palestinian side, they make it perfectly clear that it is only one state that they want: the whole area, with no Jews, period. They view this time of relative peace and time wasting negotiations as simply allowing them to prepare for the next war.
The Americans, and all who really try to solve this impasse, simply cannot see any other possibility of solution. David Cameron-“We desperately need a two State solution”. Angela Merkel- ‘It is the only reasonable solution”.
The Bible tells us of God’s plan for His people and what is in store for those who refuse to acknowledge Him.
Hosea 6:11 And for you too, Judah, a harvest of reckoning will come, when I am minded to restore the fortunes of My people
Jeremiah 12:14-17 These are the words of the Lord about all those evil neighbours who encroach on the Land which I allotted to My people, Israel as their holding. I shall uproot them from their own soil. Also I shall uproot Judah from among them, but after I have uprooted them, I shall have pity on them again [that is, the Jews] and bring them back to the Land. IF they will learn the ways of My people and acknowledge My Name [the Lord Jesus] as they taught My people to love idols, only them can they establish families among My people. Born again Christians.
The peoples that will not listen, I will uproot and destroy.
Isaiah 26:20-21 Go, My people, enter your rooms, withdraw for a little while until the Lords wrath has passed. The Lord is coming from His dwelling place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their sins…
Ezekiel 21:1-17 Say to the Land of Israel; I shall draw My sword and make away with both the righteous and wicked, everyone from the Negev, northwards….
