Proclaim this Message to the North

Proclaim this message toward the North    Jeremiah 3:12

Jeremiah 3:11 The Lord said; Apostate Israel is more righteous than faithless Judah.

Jeremiah 3:12-13 Come back, apostate people, for I am patient with you and My love is unfailing. I shall not keep My anger forever. Only acknowledge your wrongdoing and your disobedience to My commands.

Jeremiah 3:14-15 I shall take you, one from each city and two from each clan and bring you to Zion. [Isaiah 27:12] There I will give you shepherds after My own heart and they will lead you with knowledge and understanding. [Jeremiah30:21]

Jeremiah 3:16-17 In those days, when you have increased and become fruitful in the Land no one will speak of or remember the Ark of the Covenant. At that time, Jerusalem will be called the Throne of the Lord, all nations will gather there to honour the Lord. No longer will they follow their evil and stubborn hearts.

Jeremiah 3:18 In those days, Judah will be united with Israel and together they will come from a Northern land into the Land that I gave their forefathers. Jeremiah 50:2

Jeremiah 3:19-20 I had said; How gladly I would treat you like sons and give you a desirable Land. You would call Me ‘Father’, I thought, and not cease to follow Me. But, like a woman unfaithful to her husband, so you, Israel were unfaithful to Me.

Jeremiah 3:21 Weeping is heard from the barren heights, Israel’s people pleading for mercy, because they have forgotten the Lord and His ways.  [Amos 5:17]

Jeremiah 3:22 Come back, apostate people and I will heal you. Here we are – coming to You, for You are the Lord, our God.  [Isaiah 59:20]

Jeremiah 3:23=25 Surely, those idols on the hilltops are useless, only the Lord is salvation for us.    From our early days, false gods have consumed the fruits of our fathers labours, their livestock and children. In our shame, let disgrace cover us, for we have sinned against the Lord our God and not obeyed Him.

Jeremiah 4:1 Israel, come back to the Lord – banish your loathsome idols and go astray no more. [Jeremiah 29:13-14]

Jeremiah 4:2 If you swear ‘by the life of the Lord’ in truth, justice and uprightness – then the nations will pray to be blessed like you

Ref. REB,NIV,KJV. Some verses abridged

Note that in verse 16, it is only after His people, Israel have increased and become fruitful in the Land, that the Ark is superseded by the Lords presence in Jerusalem. This proves that the Ark, now hidden, will be found and placed in the rebuilt Temple. Zechariah 6:15, 2 Thess 2:4

Verse 18 states that Israel and Judah will unite and re-enter the Land from the North. Only a remnant of the present Jewish population will remain in the Land after the Day of vengeance, so most of Christian Judah will be those who, at present are living elsewhere. Zechariah 13:8-9

Verse 21 is described in Ezekiel 20:34-38…. I shall bring you out of the peoples…gather you, make you pass under the Rod of judgement and purge you of those who rebel against Me. They will come from where they live, but will not set foot in the Promised Land.
