Over 2600 years ago

Over 2600 years ago, the prophet Ezekiel asked God if he had cast off the nation of Israel forever.  God says that although He has dispersed them to the far corners of the earth, He will gather them back into their own land in the Last Days. God further pledges to Ezekiel that He will change the heart of Israel, and that He will become their God again.

Ezekiel 11:13-20 And it came to pass, when I prophesied, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then fell I down upon my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, Ah Lord God! will You make a full end of the remnant of Israel? Again the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, Son of man, thy brethren, even thy brethren, the men of thy kindred, and all the whole house of Israel, [all the Israelites] are those unto whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem [the Jewish people] have said, Get you far from the Lord: unto us is this Land given in possession.
Therefore say, the Lord God says; Although I have cast them far off among the heathen, and although I have scattered them among the countries, yet will I be to them as a little sanctuary in the countries where they shall come.

But the Day will come when I will gather you out of the world and assemble you from the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel. And they shall come there and they shall remove all the detestable things and all the abominations from My holy Land. And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them a heart of flesh: That they may walk in my statutes, and keep My ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.

Plainly this prophecy remains unfulfilled today.

There is a clear distinction here between the two Houses: Israel and Judah. It shows how Judah consider themselves as the possessor’s of the Land of Israel, as is the case at present. So who are the people the Lord says He will gather and give the Land to? The people who will remove the sinful things and keep God’s Laws?

They are the ten Northern tribes, who were taken into exile by Assyria 135 years before the Babylonian exile of Judah. They remain scattered among the nations and it is mainly them who have become the Christian peoples. The Israel of God: Galatians 6:16  Jesus mentioned them when He said I have come to save the lost sheep of Israel and others I will gather, they are not of this [Jewish] flock. He told His disciples to take the Gospel to the world. 1 Peter 1:1 and James 1:1 knew who were Israelites and where they were. As did Josephus the Jewish historian.

In these Last Days, Judah and Israel will experience the most intense time of disaster the world has ever known. This is known as the time of Jacob’s Trouble. Jeremiah 30:4-7 Jesus alluded to this period in his Olivet Discourse, and promised His chosen people that they would be saved. Luke 21:24-28, Acts 2:21

It will be a tough time of testing for us Christians, but for the Lord’s enemies it will be their demise. All that area given to Abraham will be cleared and cleansed, Deuteronomy 32:34-43, Ezekiel 30:2-5 and the true Christian believers will go to live there.

The word elect, and the idea of the election of Israel comes from the Greek word, “ekletos.” It means chosen and salvation is given to all who may “elect” to accept Jesus Christ as their Saviour and Lord. John 15:18, John 3:16, 1 Peter 2:9-10
