I will make My Enemies My Footstool

  Psalms 110:1 This is the Lords oracle to My Lord. [God speaking to Jesus]

          Sit at My right hand and I shall make your enemies your footstool.

Psalm 110:2 The Lord extends your Kingly power, saying; from Zion, reign over Your enemies. [authority given to Jesus to judge God’s enemies]

Psalm 110:3  You gain the homage of Your people. Clothed in holy garments, you are as a glorious youth.

Psalm 110:4 The Lord has sworn an oath – You are My High priest forever.

          [verse 3&4 talk about Jesus during the Millennial period]

Psalm 110:5 The Lord [Jesus] at Your right hand – He crushes Kings on the Day of His wrath. [Haggai 2:22 I shall overthrow Kings and break the power of nations.]

Psalm 110:6 In glorious majesty, He judges the nations, shattering heads throughout the world.

Isaiah 66:15-16 See; the Lord is coming in fire. His sword will test mankind.

Habakkuk 3:12 Furiously, You traverse the earth, in anger You trample down the nations.

Deut 32:42 I shall make My arrows drunk with blood. My sword will devour flesh and pour out the blood of My enemies.

Psalm 110:7 He will drink from the stream on His way, therefore He will hold His head high. [The Lord Jesus will gain strength for His task and carry it out with justice and righteousness.]

This Psalm describes how God empowers the Lord Jesus to carry out the task of delivering God’s wrath and vengeance to the earth.

Wisdom of Solomon 18:15-16…. when Your all powerful Word leapt from your Royal throne in heaven, into the midst of that doomed land, like a relentless warrior, bearing the sharp sword of Your inflexible decree. He stood and spread death everywhere.

Psalm 2:7-9 I shall announce the decree of the Lord; You are My Son, He said to Me, this day I became Your Father. Ask of Me what You will – I shall give You nations as Your domain, the earth to its farthest ends as Your possession, You will break them with a rod of iron; shatter them like an earthen pot.

Luke 3:15-17 The people wondered whether John the Baptist was the Messiah, but he spoke out, saying; I baptize you with water, but One is coming who will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire. His winnowing fork is ready in hand, to clear His threshing floor and gather the wheat into His granary; but the chaff He will burn on a fire that can never be put out.

Hebrews 10:12-13 Christ, having offered for all time a single sacrifice, He took His seat at Gods right hand, where He now waits until His enemies are made His footstool.

Hebrews 10:26-27 If we persist in sin, there remains only a terrifying judgement of fire, which will consume Gods enemies.     Reference: REB.
