Arise, Lord and set Your Hand to the Task

Psalms 10:12-15 Arise, Lord, set Your hand to the task, do not forget the afflicted.  The wicked have rejected You, they say: You will not call them to account. You see their evil deeds, Lord: bring on Your justice, we commit ourselves to You.  Break their power and hunt out wickedness until You can find it no more.

Psalms 11:4-7 The Lord is in His holy place, on His heavenly throne. He observes mankind and searches out the just and unjust peoples. The Lord tries the righteous, but He hates those who do violence on them and all those who deny Him and act against His Laws. On them, He will rain fiery coals and burning sulphur, a scorching wind will be their lot.

For the Lord is righteous and loves justice, His face is turned toward the upright in heart.

Psalms 14:4-7 Will evildoers never learn? All those evil peoples who devour My people  as if eating bread and never consider their Maker. They will be in dire alarm, for the Lord is present in the company of the righteous. You evildoers frustrate the plans of the poor and humble, but the Lord is their refuge.     We pray for the deliverance of Zion and long for the Day when the Lord will restore the fortunes of His people.

Then all Israel will rejoice and be glad.  [The Lord’s Israelite people, every faithful, born again Christian.]

Psalms 15:1-5 Lord: who may dwell in Your sanctuary? Who may live in Your Holy Land?  He whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous.

He who speaks the truth from his heart and bears no malice.

He who does his neighbour no wrong and does not denigrate his fellow man.

He who despises evil, but honours those who fear God.

He who keeps his oath, even when it hurts.

He who lends money without usury and takes no bribes.

He who does these things will never be shaken.

            Psalm 50:3-6, Psalm 97:1-12

Psalms 10:16-18 Lord. You have heard the lament of the humble, You strengthen their hearts. You listen to them and bring redress to the fatherless and oppressed, so that no one on earth can again inspire terror. Now the [evil] nations have been expelled from Your Land. The Lord reigns forever!    Jeremiah 12:14
