I trust that those who still hold to the idea of the Day of the Lord’s vengeance and wrath, as being at the same time [or within weeks of] the Return of Jesus, will carefully read the passage in Isaiah 64:1-12. It is impossible to reconcile this scripture with that theory.
The puzzle really is; how can so many respected Bible scholars have missed this sequence of events? The only answer is, that it has not been God’s will that these facts be known, up until now. Now, we can see how Psalms 83 will be fulfilled and how all that area given to Abraham, so long ago, will be made empty and desolate. Then all those prophecies of Land regeneration and His Christian people’s settlement into all of the holy Land will come to pass.
Isaiah 64:1-2 describes the method and results of the Lord’s action on that Day and Psalms 97 also gives vivid details, then promises how light and joy will come to His righteous people.
The question in Isaiah 64:12 After all this, will You keep silent and punish us beyond measure?
The answer is; NO
Isaiah 30:18 The Lord is waiting to show you His favour….
Isaiah 54:4-10 …for a passing moment, I forsook you, now I will bring you home again.
Hosea 54:4-7 I will heal My people and love them freely.
Jeremiah 33:14 I will bestow upon all the Israelites all the blessings I have promised.
Who are His people? Ephesians 2:11-18, Galatians 3:26-29, Romans 9:24-26, 1 Peter 2:9-10, Revelation 5:9-10, Galatians 6:16…all you Christians are the Israel of God. (
